Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain (PFOAC) is a private gallery dedicated to the presentation of contemporary art. PFOAC represents multidisciplinary artists working with a variety of techniques. Despite the conceptual, formal and aesthetic differences that distinguish their respective productions, some common threads associate their various approaches with the idea (and act) of making art. Some use their art to challenge traditional modes of representation such as landscape, portrait and still life. Others are more interested in exploring social or cultural phenomena. While some of the gallery's artists draw attention to the signs and symbols that define our surrounding world, others evoke those ephemeral or intangible aspects of life that are usually difficult to define. Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain is dedicated to presenting works that demonstrate a critical commitment to contemporary art in all its forms and complexity. 2016 marked PFOAC’s 15th anniversary and a significant moment in its history with the relocation and redevelopment of a building on Rachel Street in the Plateau Mont-Royal. The gallery provides a window on this exceptional street and gallery spaces with a unique architecture designed by Pierre Mercier over the decades (interior courtyard, three-story skylight) in a booming neighborhood.

In 2011, its director was named "Gallerist of the Year" at the Quebec Visual Arts Awards. He is currently a board member of the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board and sat on the Art Dealers Association of Canada board, the Montreal Public Art Committee, amongst others. The gallery was listed in ARTINFO/Modern Painters Blouin media's "500 Best Galleries in the World" guide in 2013, 2015 and 2016.

From 2012-2018, the gallery launched a branch in Toronto to promote the artists with whom it works outside Quebec by presenting exhibitions at Centre Space in collaboration with Feheley Fine Arts.

In addition to its program of solo and group exhibitions (more than 100 to date), PFOAC has regularly presented the work of its artists at various national and international fairs (more than 60), including AIPAD Photography Show, Volta NY, Art Toronto, LOOP Barcelona and Papier.
