Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain presents a solo exhibition of new work by Jeff Kulak. Kulak's unique approach to sculpture in this exhibition draws from classical sculpture presentation, ironic dramatizations, and 3D productivity graphs.
S A D N E S S C A N Y O N
I'm the king of sadness canyon
I'm the saddest in the land
My tears are fearsome boulders
Tumbling down into the sand
A river once flowed through this place
Kissed by a gentle breeze
A thousand types of animals
Lived side by side with ease
But all that is forgotten now
And nowhere will you find
Another living creature
Or a leaf of any kind
You’re stuck here now, your fate is sealed
I’ve thrown away the key
These walls grow ever taller
So you must stay here with me
So many others chanced escape
But failed, I’ll have you know
They’re back under my shadow
Coiled tightly in my woe
Your health will fail, your skin will peel
Your eyes will fill with spots
I'll round up all your memories
And twist them into knots
The years will be impossible
Your emptiness complete
Any scrimp of hope in you
I'll ruthlessly deplete
If perchance you find the gall
To cry out in the night
To reach across the table
Grab a hand with all your might
I'll scream my wicked scream again
And double up my spell
Pull you back into my canyon
Where no one will hear you yell
You'll ruminate, you'll contemplate
But never will you find
A way out of this evil maze
Built just with you in mind
