"The drawing Soft Lunar Zombie Tunnel Escape (2024, 3.5 x 8.5 ft., ink on mylar (ink by Jason Logan: copper, soot, saltwater, indigo dust, rain) shows a land-space that preoccupies my current research: my avatar’s journey Second Life (in this piece, to AbTec Island, an Aboriginally-determined virtual environment created by Skawennati and Jason Lewis) and a LIDAR scan of the cedar forest at my cabin on Howe Island on the St. Lawrence River. I think of this cross-hatched drawing as a meditation. Putting digital landscapes into analog form, I ask the viewer to atune to a soft lunar landscape of incremental shifts of tones of grey and shimmering purple. (Thank you to Jason Logan for providing the title.)" -A.P.
