"Nymphes se baignant" est une nouvelle édition de découpe au jet d'eau sur aluminium brossé à la main puis peint. Comme pour l'autre nouvelle découpe au jet d'eau, The Hunt, l'image de cette œuvre d'art a été inspirée par des visites dans les charmants jardins publics de Paris et les statues envoûtantes du Louvre.
La scène représente un vieux pin du Bois de Boulogne qui étend ses branches protectrices pour abriter trois baigneuses. Dans ce cadre naturel, les femmes profitent d'un moment de paix et de tranquillité.
La nouveauté de cette œuvre réside également dans mon expérimentation de la peinture transparente. Ce procédé spécial permet à la couleur bleue profonde et à la brillance de l'aluminium de conférer une luminosité des plus séduisantes.

Nymphs bathing is a new edition of water-jet cut on hand brushed then painted aluminum. As with the other new water-jet cut, The Hunt, this artwork’s image has been inspired by visits to the enchanting public gardens in Paris and mesmerizing statues treasured in the Louvre.
The scene depicts an ancient pine tree from the Bois de Boulogne extending its protective branches to shelter three bathers. In this natural setting the women delight in a moment of peace and tranquility.
New to this work is also my experimentation using transparent paint. The special process allows the deep blue colour and sheen of the aluminum to impart a most seductive luminosity.
